Is Discogs Worth It? (Spoiler: Yes!)

Overall, i would say it's well worth doing. For many members here, there is great financial and sentimental value to our music collections. And if you're like me, you really want. Buying vinyl records period is not reliable. Especially nowadays, its basically 50/50 that you get a record without issues.

I only buy in discogs if i have no other. Depends on the seller. Ive found larger sellers on discogs to be pretty good at grading and smaller sellers (hobbyists but still with 100+ ratings) to be overly optimistic about condition. But they are just the middle man between you and the seller. Look for sellers with no lower then 99. 8 rating and you should be fine. It is as safe as ebay or craigslist. It is very helpful not only for cataloging your records accurately against the various pressings of every record, it's great for making a list of all the records you want too. Discogs is the biggest online marketplace for vinyl, and i know you want cd but it's pretty good there too. Plus, you've got a much better chance of getting the exact release you want here.
